Do I need pottery experience to do a workshop?

No. Workshops are designed to be completed by beginners, unless stated otherwise in the course description. An instructor will walk you through the workshop and help you as needed to complete the project.

Where are you located, and is there parking onsite?

We are on the Homes Campus, which offers food, drinks, and indoor/outdoor workspaces. Our studio is a warehouse space in the back parking lot of this campus. We are near the exit of the additional parking for the campus; look for our signs!There is parking on-site.

When will we get our pieces back?

Accepted Answer

It takes approximately 3-4 weeks to process your piece into a finished ceramic item. We will email you when your items are ready to pickup! This message will go the same email where you received your session confirmation.

Yes! Throw Art Studio offers workshops for beginners who want to complete a ceramic handbuilding project without a large time commitment.

How old do you have to be to do a workshop?

Accepted Answer

Ages 10 and up can do workshops if a guardian is also participating in the workshop, and ages 16 and up can participate without a guardian. If you are planning to attend a workshop with your 10-16 year old, you must also reserve a seat for yourself.

Pottery workshops at Throw Art Studio are fun, one-time sessions that offer a unique experience in Ann Arbor. These artistic workshops require no long-term commitment, and can usually be finished in just one session depending on which workshop you attend. Pickup times will typically be 3-4 weeks after the session.

Can multiple people work on one project together?

Accepted Answer

Multiple people cannot buy one seat to work on one project together. If you plan to work on just one project amongst multiple people, you must still reserve one seat per person.
