Throw is temporarily only able to host Wheel Throwing parties.
We are not able to offer Pottery Painting Parties or Combination Events at the moment.

Group Events & Private Parties in Ann Arbor
Throw Art Studio hosts private pottery events at our studio on Jackson Plaza.
Wheel throwing, pottery painting, or both, for birthdays, team building, showers, and celebrations of most kinds.
No experience needed! We teach the skills, supply everything, and fire your group's work afterward.
Party & Event Options
Wheel Throwing Party
A hands-on creative challenge on the pottery wheel, led by an instructor who will teach you the basics. Two hours of centering, shaping, and learning a new skill together.
Minimum group size of 6. $72 per person. Pickup time is an estimated 4 weeks.
Pottery Painting Party
A relaxed, self-paced session where your group picks ceramic items off our shelves to decorate with glaze. Three hours to chat & do something creative together.
Minimum group size of 10.
$50 per table (seats 6), plus the cost of your items ($15-$60 per item). Pickup time is an estimated 2 weeks.
Combination Party
The best of both! Your group will split between the pottery wheels and the painting tables. Ideal for groups with a mix of people wanting to paint or throw.
Minimum of 6 throwers + any number of painters. Same pricing as the individual events. Pickup time is an estimated 4 weeks.
Event Pricing
Wheel Throwing:
$72 per person, with a minimum group size of 6.
Deposit: 25% of total cost.
Pottery Painting:
$50 per table rented, with a minimum group size of 10. Your group will rent tables which seat up to 6 for $50 each, plus the cost of your items (items range from $15-60 each).
Deposit: Table fees.
Combination Parties:
Follows the same pricing as the individual parties. The minimum group size is 6 throwers, and any number of painters can join.
Deposit: 25% of wheel throwing cost + table fees.
Pricing Example:
For a 10 person group where 6 are throwing and 4 are painting, the deposit would be price would be the $50 painting table fee + the cost of the items (averaging $30 each), plus $72 per wheel thrower, for a total of $602.
The deposit paid up front would be 25% of the wheel throwing cost ($108) + the table fee ($50), which is subtracted from the end cost.
When to Book
Open Hours:
Monday-Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday-Friday: 2:30-8:30 PM
Saturday-Sunday: 12 PM - 5 PM
Wheel Throwing:
Wheel throwing events can only be scheduled outside of our open hours. Monday-Thursday is highly preferred. Wheel throwing events on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evenings are only available 8+ weeks in advance for groups of 12 or more throwers, paid in advance, as it would replace the studio's regular weekly "Try-It" sessions.
Pottery Painting:
Pottery painting events of 10 or more people can be scheduled both during & outside of our open hours. Events with less than 10 people can only be scheduled during our open hours.
Combination Events:
Combination events are only available to book outside of our open hours.
