Service Description
Ready to push past the basics and make pottery that's truly your own? This intermediate pottery course at Throw in Ann Arbor is built for students who've completed a beginner wheel throwing class (or have equivalent experience). This course is for you if you can: Confidently center clay and pull cylinders Throw shapes around 6 inches tall Trim and finish a piece on your own Over eight weeks you'll expand your throwing skills, learn to alter and combine forms, and build the confidence to design your own independent projects, leaving with a collection of ambitious, personalized pieces. This course meets on Mondays from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. The schedule is: Week 1: Altered mugs and forms. Week 2: Alternative feet and handles. Week 3: Combining thrown components. Week 4: Continued exploration and throwing practice. Week 5: Two-part vessels. Week 6: Independent projects and glazing begin. Week 7: Independent projects and glazing continue. Week 8: Final class! Wrap up Independent projects and glaze your final pieces. Final pieces are ready for pickup ~2–3 weeks later. The studio will email you when your work is ready.
