Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy
Wheel Throwing Courses:
Students unable to attend one or more planned sessions may schedule makeup sessions with instructor guidance, though we cannot guarantee the same instructor. Makeup sessions can be held during weekday or weekend open studio hours. If you expect to miss two or more consecutive sessions, please inform your instructor for potential accommodations. Free cancellation is available until the course starts. Once the course begins, cancellations will receive a 75% refund. Refunds are typically processed within 10-14 business days.
Workshops and "Try Wheel Throwing" Classes:
A free one-time reschedule or full refund is available if cancellation is made before the class starts. If you miss your session without prior notice, rescheduling will be the only option available; refunds will not be issued. In extreme circumstances where prior notice cannot be given, please contact us for potential accommodations.
Disclaimer of Liability:
Participation in any class or workshop comes with inherent risks, including potential breakage or damage to created pieces. The studio is not responsible for any damage or loss occurring during the ceramics creation process, including the glazing and firing stages. Participants must acknowledge and accept this risk before attending.
Force Majeure Clause:
The studio will not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations under these policies due to events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, government mandates, utility failures, pandemics, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Return & Refund Policy
Pre-made, Vintage, and Instructor Products:
Returns are not accepted for pre-made, vintage, or instructor products. Please inspect items carefully at the time of purchase, as items damaged due to misuse or regular wear and tear will not be eligible for returns. Items are sold for decorative purposes only and are not recommended for food use. Any use of such items is at your own risk.
Self-Made Pieces in Classes and Events:
Participants should understand that there is no guarantee their created pieces will survive the ceramics process. The glazing and firing processes involve variables that may cause breakage or damage. No financial compensation will be provided for such occurrences. The purchase of any class or event covers the learning experience, not the guarantee of a finished piece.
For events and parties, participants must label their pieces with their name and date for retrieval purposes. The return of finished pieces is not guaranteed and is not included in the purchase price unless additional items are purchased. If purchased items are not returned, a refund for those specific items will be issued.
Food Safety Disclaimer:
We do not guarantee the food safety of any items. Pottery pieces are not recommended for dishwasher or microwave use due to potential non-zero percent vitrification. Use of items for food is at your own risk, and participants must acknowledge this disclaimer upon taking items home.
Service Dissatisfaction:
If you are dissatisfied with a service, please submit a detailed explanation using our feedback form. A team member will follow up to assess your request for a refund or accommodation.
Limitation of Liability Clause:
Our liability for any claims related to services provided is limited to the amount paid by the participant for the specific service in question. This limitation must be acknowledged by all participants before attending any studio service.
Studio Rules
The studio promotes respect, inclusivity, and safety. Discrimination of any kind is prohibited, and we encourage acceptance and understanding among all participants.
All studio tools and equipment should be treated with care, and safety and cleaning protocols must be followed. These measures ensure a welcoming, professional, and secure environment for everyone.
Failure to Comply:
Non-compliance with studio rules may lead to disciplinary action, including warnings or removal from the studio, based on the severity of the breach. We reserve the right to deny service to maintain a safe and respectful space for all participants.
Indemnification Clause:
Participants agree to indemnify and hold the studio harmless from any claims, liabilities, or expenses arising from their actions or participation in studio activities, including negligence or failure to follow studio guidelines.
Acknowledgment and Agreement:
By attending classes, workshops, or events, participants acknowledge and agree to these terms. Participants must sign or electronically confirm their acknowledgment before participation.
Membership Policies
Memberships may be terminated for failure to follow studio rules. In such cases, a prorated refund for the remaining calendar days of the month will be provided. Membership time slots will be shared with students in wheel-throwing courses, and drop-in slots may be modified or canceled as needed.
Non-Payment Policy:
Non-payment may result in the loss of studio membership. Participants should contact us promptly in case of missed payments. If membership is lost due to non-payment, repurchase may be possible but is subject to availability.
Privacy Policy:
Participant information is collected and used solely to facilitate class scheduling, communication, and the retrieval of labeled pieces. Personal information will not be shared without consent.
Dispute Resolution Clause:
In the event of a dispute, participants agree to resolve issues through mediation or arbitration before pursuing legal action. The agreed venue for arbitration shall be Throw Art Studio - 130 Jackson Plaza, Ann Arbor 48103.
