Beginner Wheel Course (Thurs Evenings)

Service Description

THIS CLASS DOES NOT MEET ON JULY 4. Class will be skipped that week and proceed as normally the following week. The class still meets 6 times in total. Our 6-week beginner pottery course covers the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, and glazing in a small group of 6 participants. In addition to scheduled lessons, each week you can come in for one optional practice session during our membership studio time (Tues-Wed 12-5, Thurs-Fri 12-3, Sat 2-6, Sun 5-8). All materials + 2 finished pieces + weekday open studio time included! Missing a day of class? No problem! Schedule a make-up session with us during the week and we will give you a catch-up lesson. Please try to make the scheduled lessons for the best class experience. We keep classes small compared to other studios to give personalized advice and accelerate learning for our students. After taking our course, you WILL be able to throw on the wheel and create your own beautiful pieces! Our studio is located on the Homes Campus, which offers excellent food & drinks. Feel free to step outside for a break and enjoy the sunshine in our campuses' outdoor seating area. The Beginner Course Will Cover: Clay Preparation Centering Techniques Pulling Walls Trimming and Finishing Touches Crafting Handles & Attachments Applying Glazes Kiln Operation Demonstration In the final weeks, you'll have the opportunity to apply glazes to your favorite pieces, which we'll fire in our studio kiln. Two finished pieces are included with the course, and it's $15 for each extra you wish to keep beyond that.These finished creations will be ready for you to collect approximately 4 weeks after the class concludes, serving as a reflection of your new skills and artistic journey!
